Updated

Each entry gives what the word means in Libretto, the label the admin shows for it (where there is one), and the guide page that explains it. Labels are quoted as the English admin shows them; the Italian glossary lists the Italian labels.

A #

  • Access token. A named key, tied to one site and your role, that lets an agent act for you. It lasts 30 or 90 days and can be revoked at any time. You make it in the sidebar under People & access › Agents & MCP access (Persone e accessi › Agenti e accessi MCP), and see it once. See MCP.
  • Activate (a version). Make an older published version the live site again. Your current draft is replaced by that version. Admin: Make live. See Publish and versions.
  • Activity. The site's log of changes, one sentence per change, with Undo on each row. Super admins only. Admin: Activity, page title Activity log. See Hand a site to a client.
  • Agent. A program, often an AI assistant, that edits a site through MCP or the CLI with the same operations as the editor. See Agents and API.

B #

  • Batch. A list of up to 100 operations sent together. It succeeds or fails as a whole, and is recorded once in Activity. Not shown in the admin. See Batches.
  • Behaviour. A component with its own logic that a design-system component cannot be, such as the sticky header bar, the menu drawer, the marquee or the image sequence. You add it from the Add panel like any component. See Build a page.
  • Blueprint. The starting point of a new site: its pages, components, menus and design system. The design system keeps the blueprint's values as the layer you can reset to. Admin: Blueprint. See Your first site.
  • Brand client. A role that only creates brand assets for one site. It does not edit pages. Admin: Brand client. See Your workspace.
  • Breakpoint. A screen width from which a style applies. Sites start with base, sm, md, lg and xl, mobile first. Admin: Breakpoints. See Layers and canvas.

C #

  • Canvas. A box where children are placed freely: you drag, resize and rotate them, with snapping. Admin: Canvas. See Layers and canvas.
  • Collection. A set of items that share fields, such as events or team members, shown on pages through lists. Admin: Collections. See Build a page.
  • Component (design system). A building block of the design system, such as a button, a card or a form, with variants, sizes, states and parts. Admin: Components, under Design System. See Components and variants.
  • Content author. The role for clients: edits texts, images, links and collection items, reads form messages, manages members and publishes, without changing structure or design. Admin: Content author. See Hand a site to a client.
  • Content editor. The role for designers and studio staff: builds pages, styles them, sets up forms and publishes. Admin: Content editor. See Your workspace.

D #

  • Design system. A site's colours, type, space and shape, and the look of its components. Pages use it and never store a colour or a size of their own. Admin: Design System. See Colours, space and themes.
  • Detach. Turn an instance of a site component back into ordinary elements, so it no longer follows the component. Admin: Detach. See Site components.
  • Domain. An address the site answers on, such as studio-rossi.it. One domain is the primary; the others redirect to it. Admin: Domains, Primary. See Domains.
  • Draft. The version of the site you are editing. Visitors see it only after you publish. Admin: Current draft. See Publish and versions.
  • Dry run. Running a batch to check it without saving anything. The editor's checks and the MCP tool dry_run_ops work this way. Not shown in the admin. See MCP.

E #

  • Effect. A movement played on an element's letters or parts, such as flicker, assemble or type-erase. Admin: Effect. See Scenes and recipes.
  • Exposed prop. A field of a site component that each instance can set on its own, such as a title or an image. Admin: Exposed props. See Site components.

F #

  • Form. A set of fields visitors fill in, defined once per site and shown on pages by a Form section. Messages go to the inbox and to the recipients. Admin: Forms, Form. See Members and forms.

G #

  • Guest. A visitor who is not signed in as a member. Admin: Guest, Guests. See Members and forms.

I #

  • Inbox. The messages of one form, in the tabs New, Read and Archived, with Export CSV. See Members and forms.
  • Inspector. The right-hand column of the editor, where you edit the selected element. Its tabs are Settings, Styles and Motion; a Content author sees Content. See Layers and canvas.
  • Instance. A placed copy of a site component. It follows the component and keeps its own values for the exposed props. Admin: Instance. See Site components.

L #

  • Layers. The tree of everything on the page, in the editor's left column. You select, reorder and rename elements there. Admin: Layers. See Layers and canvas.
  • Layout. The frame around a page's content: whether it has the header and footer, and how they behave. Admin: Layouts. See Build a page.

M #

  • Main language. The site's first language. Text not translated into another language shows in the main language. Admin: Main language. See Site languages.
  • MCP. Model Context Protocol, the standard through which agents connect to a site at /api/mcp. Not shown in the admin. See MCP.
  • Member. A visitor with an account on the site, who signs in to see sections and pages reserved for members. Members never reach the admin. Admin: Members, Member. See Members and forms.
  • Member role. A label you give members, such as "Press", to show a section or page only to those who hold it. Admin: Roles. See Members and forms.
  • Menu. A list of links drawn by the header, the footer and other navigation. Admin: Menus. See Build a page.

O #

  • Operation. One action on a site, such as page.update or designSystem.setTokens. The editor, MCP and the CLI all use the same operations. Not shown in the admin. See Operations.
  • Override. A value set on one instance of a site component, which wins over the component's own. Admin: "Changes here apply to this instance only." See Site components.

P #

  • Part. A named piece inside a component, such as a card's title or a button's icon, which you style on its own. Admin: Part. See Components and variants.
  • Preset. A ready-made, styled piece of page, such as a hero or a form section, that you insert from the Add panel. Inserting copies it: later changes to the preset do not reach the page. Admin: Preset. See Build a page.
  • Preview. The live view of the page in the editor, which updates as you edit. Admin: Preview. See Build a page.
  • Publish. Make the draft live and save it as a new version. Admin: Publish, Publish & versions. See Publish and versions.

R #

  • Recipe. A ready motion pattern, such as Reveal, Parallax or Dock into the header, that you apply to an element and tune with knobs. A knob is one of its settings, such as speed or scroll distance. See Scenes and recipes.
  • Restore a page. Bring one page back into the draft as an older version held it, without touching the rest of the site. Admin: Restore a page…. See Publish and versions.
  • Reveal. A simple entrance played when an element scrolls into view: fade, fade up, scale or blur. Admin: Reveal. See Scenes and recipes.

V #

  • Variant. One look of a design-system component, such as a primary or a ghost button. A page stores which variant an element draws, never the look itself. Admin: Variants. See Components and variants.
  • Version. A saved copy of the whole site, made at each publish, with its note. You can make any version live again. Admin: Version. See Publish and versions.
