Request access

Ask for a Libretto workspace from the form on librettocms.com, then set your password from the invite link and sign in.

Updated

Libretto is open by invitation while the first studios come on board. You ask for access with a short form; a person reads it, and if it is a fit you get an invite link that creates your studio's workspace and lets you choose a password.

Before you start #

  • You need a work email address you read: the reply and the invite go there and nowhere else.
  • Nothing to install. The admin runs in the browser.

Send the request #

  1. Open librettocms.com/#request.
  2. Fill in Your name, Work email and Studio (the studio's name or website). All three are required.
  3. Optionally, answer What would you build first? One line is enough: a client, a site, a deadline.
  4. Tick I've read the privacy notice.
  5. Choose Request access. The button reads Sending… while the form sends.

When the request is in, the form is replaced by Your request is in. We'll answer from an address ending in librettocms.com.

What happens next #

  1. A person reads your request. The reply comes by email within 2 working days, with a few questions or with an invite.
  2. If the request is approved, the platform team creates a workspace named after your studio and an invite for your email address.
  3. The workspace starts with no website. You own it, so you create the first one yourself after signing in (see Your first site), unless the team prepared it for you.

Set your password from the invite #

The invite is a link. It works once, and for 7 days.

  1. Open the link from the invite email (or the message the team sent you).
  2. The page Choose your password opens. Type a password of at least 8 characters in Password, and the same again in Confirm password. Use Show password to check what you typed.
  3. Choose Set password and sign in. The button reads Signing you in…, then the admin opens on your workspace.

From then on you sign in at the admin's Sign in page with your email and password. If you forget the password, choose Forgot password? there: the reset link is valid for 1 hour.

What you see #

  • After setting the password you land on the home of the website assigned to you. With no website yet, the admin says Your workspace {workspace} is ready, with Create the first website.
  • The invite page says You were invited to Libretto. Choose a password to sign in.

Pitfalls #

Pitfall: The link works only once. If you set the password and later open the link again, the page says This invitation link is not valid or has expired. Sign in with your password instead (Already set your password? Sign in).

  • The link expired. After 7 days the link stops working with the same message. Reply to the email you got and ask for a new link: the team makes one with New invite link, and the earlier link stops working.
  • The link is cut short. Some mail programs break long links across lines. Copy the whole link into the address bar.
  • Too many attempts. After repeated tries the page says Too many attempts. Wait a minute and try again.
  • You already have an account. A request from an email that already has a Libretto account cannot be approved as a new workspace. Ask the team to add you to the new workspace instead.
  • No newsletter. The form's promise is binding: the address is used only to answer the request.

If you run the platform #

Requests land in Platform > Access requests, which only the Super admin role sees. Waiting lists the open ones.

  1. Choose Approve… on a request. Check Workspace name and URL key (lowercase letters, digits and single hyphens; it becomes part of the websites' addresses).
  2. Choose Create workspace and invite. The dialog shows the Invite link; choose Copy link and send it. It is also emailed only when the platform sends email; the dialog says which.
  3. Read the dialog's next step: the owner creates the first website after signing in. To prepare it for them instead, add it under Websites and assign it to them in Platform users.
  4. To decline, choose Archive, then Archive request. Nobody is told.
